Lesson Summary
This lesson is intended as a supplement to a lesson on relative position and velocity. It provides students with an opportunity to discuss frames of reference and connect that to how some scientists are probing the limits of Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle. Upon completion of this lesson, students will be able to:
- determine the relative position of two objects on an xy-coordinate plane;
- determine the velocity of an object using different frames of reference; and
- compare and contrast finding relative position and velocity to how scientists could use negative mass particles to determine the exact position of positive mass particles.
